Telemundo has announced the finalists for the second annual Premios Tu Mundo.
In a press statement, the network announced the nominees as well as many of the artists who will perform at the ceremony. Telemundo revealed that Daddy Yankee, Natalia Jimenez, Victor Manuelle, Christian Castro, Banda Los Recoditos, Voz de Mando, Elvis Crespo and Roberto Junior y Bandeno were among the confirmed performers for the star-studded awards show that will be broadcast live on Thursday, Aug. 15 from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla. The program will also feature the anticipated arrivals pre-show "La Alfombra de Premios Tu Mundo."
The network stated, "Through fan voting and a selection process that combines the power of television, web, mobile and social media platforms, 'Premios Tu Mundo' gives viewers the final say in what's hot in novelas, music, fashion, movies and sports, selecting from 20 competing categories, and making the winners a true reflection of the people's choice."
Among the nominees for this year's event in the novela category are Aracely Arambula ("La Patrona"), Andres Parra ("Pablo Escobar: EL Patron del Mal"), Monica Spears ("Pasion Prohibida"), Christian Bach ("La Patrona"), Saul Lisazo ("El Rostro de la Venganza"), and Rafael Amaya ("El Senor de los Cielos"). In the music categories Don Omar, Pitbull, Wisin y Yandel, Jesse and Joy and Gerardo Ortiz were nominated.
Michelle Rodriguez ("Fast and Furious 6"), Jenni Rivera ("Filly Brown"), and Zoe Saldana ("Star Trek: Into Darkenss") were among the film nominees with Lionel Messi, and Javier Hernandez.
Each category included four finalists that will be announced at the ceremony, which will air at 8 p.m.
