The WWE is overseas currently, which is why this week's Raw and Smackdown have already been taped. However, despite no live television tapings taking place, there is still some news and rumors coming from the biggest wrestling company in the world, including a fan attacking one of the company's top wrestlers.

Randy Orton was attacked by a fan during a live event in Cape Town, South Africa, after a match against Big E Langston. The fan stormed the ring and hit Orton from behind after he was posing on one of the turnbuckle.

The man hit Orton in the groin from the back, knocking him off the turnbuckle. Security then grabbed the man and kicked him out of the ring. The WWE released a statement about the incident, and footage of the incident was captured and put onto Youtube, which can be seen below. The fan may have been lucky security got to him first, as Orton is clearly much bigger than the fan and could have really done damage to the fan if he wanted to.

In other news, the WWE is also in Australia this week, and Ryback has caused some controversy while on tour in the country. Lords of Pain is reporting that fans have been chanting Goldberg at the wrestler, raising the ire of the powerhouse. He complained to the fans about the chants, which caused them to merely shout it louder. He then swore he would take the WWE Championship from John Cena and "take a big Goldberg" on the city. It will be interesting if Goldberg responses to Ryback insulting him.

In lighter news, Dolph Ziggler was honored at a live event in Macon, Georgia, as it was his birthday. Former onscreen squeeze AJ Lee presented him with a cake, which ended up on both wrestlers as the fans sang Happy Birthday to the wrestler.

Finally, the WWE recently announced a new Pay-Per-View, Battleground, for October 6 in Buffalo New York. Some fans have speculated that the event may signal return of the War Games match, which features two teams in two rings surrounded by a steel cage. However, it is being reported that the seating chart for the event will not allow a two ring setup, which would not allow the NWA/WCW match from taking place.
