In the interim, while fans wait for Eminem to drop his highly anticipated eigth studio album, Justin Bieber made an attempt to pay homage to the veteran rapper that pretty much failed.
The 19-year-old Canadian singer stopped in Slim Shady's hometown of Detroit Sunday night during his "Believe" worldwide tour, where he surprised fans with his own rendition of Eminem's "Lose Yourself." However, it's safe to say that the "Beauty and a Beat" needs to practice rapping the 2002 hit before he schedules his next concert in Detroit.
Video footage shows Bieber as he flubs the first line of the song, rapping that his "palms are heavy," according to Complex. The correct line is "palms are sweaty."
Considering Eminem's a Detroit native, locals take the song pretty seriously, but the crowd at Joe Louis Arena didn't seem to notice Bieber's blunder and kept cheering him on anyways.
Zimbio points out that other high-profile artists like Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson have done a much better job at covering Em's smash hit while performing in Detroit.
Although no details have been confirmed concerning a release date or title for Eminem's new LP, hardcore fans will be happy to learn that an exclusive track that Em recorded back in the 90's was recently released. The song exposes a rare and extremely raw taste of the Grammy Award-winning artist.
The freestyle rap, titled "Biterphobia," dates back to 1995 when Em was still a part of the Soul Intent rap group and simply known as "M&M." It was featured on the group's demo "Soul Intent" and was released only on cassette tape on Feb. 25, 1995 via Mashin' Duck Records. The EP was never made available commercially.
One year after the group's release of their third, self-titled EP, the hip-hop icon went on to pursue a solo career and released his debut solo album "Infinite" in 1996.
