A chemistry teacher turned megalomaniac meth dealer's fate will be determined this summer as the epic "Breaking Bad" series comes to an end. Fans are desperately waiting to learn the pending fate of Walt. Will his DEA agent brother-in-law come down on him with an iron fist? Will Walt miraculously save his family from shame and imminent doom? Will he carry on as New Mexico's most notorious drug lord? No one can be sure, but one thing's for sure, the finale will be electrifying.
In anticipation of the final episodes, cast interviews and leaked details from the set help give fans an idea of what's to come. It's important that they prepare themselves. It's going to be a crazy ride. One recently exposed detail in particular irked creator Vince Gilligan, but what's done is done.
During a conversation with Gilligan at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens on Sunday, Charlie Rose accidentally revealed that he will appear in the penultimate episode of "Breaking Bad," according to The Huffington Post. Gilligan scolded Rose for his "spoiler," but Rose apologized after confirming that his "check would still be in the mail." When asked what role he would play, Gilligan responded, "He could be anyone."
Gilligan has long expressed his intrigued by Rose's work. During an interview with Vulture at the onset of season 5, he admitted that he's not the an avid fan of reality television, however, he'd love to see Wendy the Meth Whore on "Charlie Rose."
During a recent interview at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Gilligan talked a bit about the series finale. "I was really nervous about coming up with the end of this thing for a year straight - for six years straight," he said. "The best hope we had to come up with something that, hopefully, most people will like was to satisfy ourselves, the seven of us in the writers' room, [as well as] the cast and the crew."
"I'm very proud of the ending," Gilligan added. "I can't wait for everyone to see it. I am very cautious in my estimate, in general, of how people will respond to things. I hope I am not wildly wrong to estimate that most folks are going to dig the ending."
"Breaking Bad" will return to AMC August 11.
