Windows Phone has launched a variation of the YouTube app, but it is exclusively for specific Windows Phone 8 devices.

The Microsoft mobile operating system released "YouTube Upload," and the app works with Nokia Lumia Windows Phone smartphones.

"YouTube Upload" allows Nokia Lumia phones to share videos "quickly and easily" with people.

"Simply select the video in the Photos app and share, or upload after capturing and trimming with the Nokia Video Trimmer through share option," notes the Windows Phone description. "Share your video over Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection, but be sure to check your network operator's data charges first."

Nokia Lumia device owners will need 1MB of storage to download the app.

As Latinos Post has been monitoring, Windows Phone and YouTube have had a public disagreement about the app. In May, Google, the parent company of YouTube, requested Windows Phone to remove the YouTube app from its app store after a May 8 update allowed users to download videos and featured no advertisements.

"Unfortunately, by blocking advertising and allowing downloads of videos, your application cuts off a valuable ongoing revenue source for creators, and causes harm to the thriving content ecosystem on YouTube," wrote YouTube's Director of Global Platform Partnerships Francisco Varela to Windows Phone Apps and Store's General Manager Todd Brix in a letter May 15.

Microsoft and Google has since been in "contact," and are reportedly working on a new YouTube app for all Windows Phone devices.

"Microsoft and YouTube are working together to update the new YouTube for Windows Phone app to enable compliance with YouTube's API terms of service, including enabling ads, in the coming weeks. Microsoft will replace the existing YouTube app in Windows Phone Store with the previous version during this time," read the statement, via CNET in late May.
