There are certain shows that withstand the test of time. Year after year they put out fresh content that keep their viewers engaged and yearning for more. It's true that there are types of show's that cater to longevity, but it's an impressive feat nonetheless. Drama series for example typically begin to fade after five or six seasons as the characters drift and the plot branches into new themes. Comedy sitcoms suffer a similar fate, however, those that revolve around single episodes opposed to an all encompassing season tend to have higher rates of success. Think back on "The Office." Each episode has it's own story. Someone could sit down and watch any episode regardless of how caught up they are on the season. Sure there are recurring themes and storylines, but they aren't the shows focus. With this format, shows may not captivate their audience on a deep emotional level like other dramas do, yet their luster fades slowly overtime, allowing them to return year in and year out.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" is now approaching its 14th season and its popularity is still booming. For those diehard fans who can't get enough of the crime drama are already looking ahead into what's in store for the new season, it's your lucky day. As more and more details trickle down from the set, the pieces of the season 14 puzzle are falling into place.

The season begins with Morgan Brody and Ellie in a difficult situation as the serial killer portrayed by Tim Matheson takes them for a trip through the nine circles of hell in Dante's Inferno, according to Stabley Times. The killer stages his murders based on the epic poem. Morgan is captured during her pursuit of the killer while Ellie, a recurring prostitute on the show, suffers the same fate.

Aside from the drama that will ensue upon the premiere, the arrival of Brass's ex-wife will also shake things up as the season moves forward. But what's really got fans on the edge of their seats is the presence of the journalist. His arrival came right before that of the serial killer whose details are oddly similar to other killers the journalist has researched. Could he have some tie to the serial killer?

These questions and more will be answered upon the shows return on September 25.
