Although the LaGuardia Airport was reopened on Tuesday in New York, flyers are being slowed down by delays and cancellations two days after a Southwest Airlines flight experienced a crash landing that temporarily halted flights.

USA Today reports that around 170 flights were canceled at LaGuardia by Tuesday afternoon, according to flight-tracking service FlightStats. On Monday, there were over 350 cancellations due to both the landing gear incident and stormy weather affecting flights.

Delays averaging about 90 minutes were being reported as of 1:30 p.m. EST, according to the Federal Aviation Administration's flight delay map, due to low clouds, a frequent problem at LaGuardia.

The airplane incident occurred after the landing gear collapsed on Southwest Airlines Flight 345 from Nashville around 5:40 p.m. EST on Monday. As a result, the aircraft skidded down the runway on its nose and then veered off before it stopped in a grass area. Six passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries, while Flight 345's six crew members were taken to another hospital for observation.

LaGuardia Airport was reopened on Tuesday after cranes were used to lift the nose of a disabled Southwest Airlines jet and remove it from one of the airport's two runways.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Boeing are investigating what caused Flight 345 to lose its front landing gear as it touched down at LaGuardia, reports the LA Times
