After two frantic games, the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox are headed into a rubber match on Sunday (8:00 p.m ET) with Yanks ace pitcher C.C Sabathia going head-to-head against Sox's Ryan Dempster at Fenway Park.

The rivalry goes on for these two proud baseball teams as they look to gain some advantage in what could be another tight finish in the American League East. The Yankees are currently in fourth place with a 52-45 slate while the Red Sox are on top of the division with a 59-40 record.

CC Sabathia vs. Ryan Dempster

Sabathia, who missed the All-Star game for the first time in four years, is all ready to go after spending the break in the Caribbean. The Yankees ace pitcher hasn't lost in three consecutive starts since 2008, but that could change when he faces the Red Sox star-studded lineup.

Sabathia is carrying a 9-8 win-loss card with a 4.07 ERA and 117 strikeouts this season. Against the Red Sox, Sabathia has allowed five runs and 14 hits in two starts this season.

Meanwhile, Dempster will try to gain some sort of revenge after allowing the Yankees to score three runs in the Red Sox 4-2 loss in the final game of their season-opening series on April 4. In fact, Dempster needed a victory against the Yankees big time after three straight so-so starts. The last victory of the Red Sox starter happened almost a month ago when Boston dominated the Colorado Rockies 11-4 at home.

Sluggers To Watch

Robinson Cano (.302 with 21 homers and 67 RBIs) has been doing well at the plate despite being listed day-to-day with tightness in his quad. The 30-year old slugger drove two runs on Saturday to help the Yankees take a 5-2 win and snap the Red Sox's five-game home win streak in the process.

On the other hand, Dustin Pedroia and Jose Iglesias will be the sluggers to watch for tonight's ball game, given their history in delivering big games against the Yankees. Pedroia, who's reportedly negotiating a $100 million extension with the Red Sox, already produced 57 RBIs this season. Third baseman Jose Iglesias is 4-for-5 against Sabathia this season.
