The 10th season of ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" is beefing up its cast. On Thursday, it was announced that "Being Human" vet Bobby Campo and "Hellcats" alum Heather Hemmens were nabbed for recurring roles in the upcoming season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Campo will portray Brian, "a young dedicated fireman" who's engaged to Sasha (Hemmens), "a tough cop with a good heart." The two will appear in the show's two-hour season premiere, which will involve a major accident. There is also the possibility the characters may return in future episodes.
It remains unclear whether the major accident of the season premiere is the same bus accident from the season nine finale, THR reported.
Not much has been revealed about the upcoming season, although showrunner Shonda Rhimes did confirm last week that production was ready to go. On July 11, Rhimes tweeted, "Scripts for first two GA episodes are ON deck and ready to go!! Excited about them!!"
Earlier this week, the creative genius behind "Grey's," "Private Practice" and "Scandal" confirmed that the cast had held its first table read of the season. Rhimes even gave fans a sneak peak to the table read with photos of the cast on her Twitter and Who Say accounts.
Several actors from the show also expressed their excitement on the upcoming season. On Monday, Jessica Capshaw, who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins, tweeted, "Today is a big day. TWO BRAND NEW Grey's Anatomy scripts being read by our whole cast. Minds are gonna be blown, no doubt. #getexcited."
Meanwhile on Thursday, Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) tweeted, "First day of shooting our two hour premiere. Your gonna laugh. You're gonna cry. We're gonna take you places. I promise. #youknowhowwedo."
"Grey's Anatomy" season 10 premieres on Thursday, September 26 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
