Google is set to launch a new iteration of its popular 7-inch budget tablet, the Nexus 7, but owners of the original Nexus 7 need not feel left out. If the stars align as they should, Android 4.3 should be landing on the tablet as early as July 24.

Google has sent out invites to members of the press for a "Breakfast with Sundar Pichai." No specifics were given, but most agree that the 9 a.m. PST event in San Francisco will reveal a number of highly-anticipated Google offerings such as the new Nexus 7, a Chrome OS refresh, and Android 4.3.

As anyone with a Nexus device knows, this is great news, as new Android versions land on Nexus devices first. There might be a small delay, but you can bet that Google's cogs will be churning in an attempt to push out the update as fast as possible to popular devices such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10.

Sadly, Android 4.3 won't be a big deal. The firmware has been spotted running on several devices in the wild already, and from the looks of it, there's not much it brings to the table. Instead, it seems that Android 4.3 might introduce a new camera API and better Bluetooth support. Expect only small changes to the interface.

Instead, Google is said to be holding off on introducing a fresh Android experience until Android 5.0 "Key Lime Pie." There hasn't been much from Google on the matter, although rumblings indicate that the new mobile OS will release sometime around October or November in time to do battle with Apple's upcoming iOS 7.
