Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a game that millions of gamers are looking forward to when it is released on Aug. 23, and Ubisoft has released a brand new trailer for the game just over a month before the game is set to be released. In the new video we some of main character Sam Fisher's more violent tendencies and get some clues about what the plot of the game will entail.

The trailer begins with Sam Fisher sitting in a military aircraft as he and the crew watch footage of a massive attack on an unknown U.S. base. Then the plane's computers go haywire, as the mysterious Blacklist warns them that they will not be stopped. The plane is seen plummeting out of the sky, but such trivial matters cannot stop Sam Fisher. He is later seen running through a street towards an unknown destination.

A montage of news reporters, riots, and detonators counting down is shown, depicting the Blacklist as an organization you don't want to mess with. However, the voice-over in the trailer makes it clear that this is a job for a one man killing machine, and thus Sam is shown taking out baddies in a variety of locals and using a variety of techniques.

Some gameplay is thrown in at some points, including Sam and another agent jumping out through the landing gear of a taxiing plane, and him taking down some generic foes in what appears to be a sewer. Accolades for the game flash by as Sam continues to violently attack foes, including one scene where he uses explosives to descend through the floor to attack a target sitting comfortably on his couch. The trailer ends with the trademark goggles of the series being shown, and info about the game's release and consoles shown.

The trailer does a good job of showing off the more violent and action packed portions of the game, however, Splinter Cell also has a heavy stealth component that is rarely seen in the clip. While Blacklist will have three different play styles that users will be able to use in the game, stealth is still a big part of the game and what many fans of the series expect, so hopefully the final game will emphasize this more.

Look out for Splinter Cell: Blacklist on the PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, and Xbox 360.
