Juan Gabriel will take the stage in Colombia to celebrate his 40-year-old carreer as one of Latin America's most celebrated songwriters and entertainers. The artist will take the stage with none other than Puerto Rican talent Marc Anthony in Bogota,Colmbia on August 9, the organizers of the concert announced.

"It will be an unforgettable experience because Juan Gabriel and Marc Anthony will sing tunes from Gabriel's legendary songbook," the Colombian businessman Ricardo Leiva, who is organizing the concert, said at a press conference.

The entertainment company La Boleta, which is selling tickets to the concert, said the show will be an intimate affair by two great musicians. Tickets to the event include a formal gala dinner before the show begins.

"Juan Gabriel, the most romantic singer in Mexico's recent history is celebrating 40 years as an artist and he'll come ready to play all of his hits for the audience. He is the best of what he does and he will prove it once again in this unforgettable night," Leiva added.

During the announcement, the organization reported that this will be the first time the "Divo de Juarez" shares the stage with Marc Anthony in Bogota, who is there to give the show a "salsa" twist.

The organizers also noted that the tickets for the show are already on sale and there are only four thousand seats available for the event. Juan Gabriel's concert in Colombia is part of an ongoing tour, in which the singer celebrates his 40 years as a singer and songwriter. The tour began with a string of presentations in Mexico City's monumental National Auditorium, where the singer thanked all of the interpreters who have sung different renditions of his songs throught the years.

After some of the shows, speculation about Juan Gabriel's health was made. In one of the presentations the singer complained of high blood pressure but continued with the show after he told the audience that he didn't care if he "died onstage." The singer has been struggling with obesity and diabetes for a number of years.

Juan Gabriel's anniversary tour will continue through Colombia and Venezuela.
