Mexican singer and actress Thalía has taken some time off telenovelas since 2000, when she participated in "Rosalinda," Televisa's major success. According to Latina.com, she may be giving acting another chance.

The producer of telenovela "Libre Para Amarte" has sent an invitation to Thalía asking her to make a special cameo in the TV show, which stars Gloria Trevi. "I declare myself a fan of @Thalia. I wonder if she is @LibreParaAmarte (available) for a very special participation? #ThaliaLibre with @GloriaTrevi?," wrote producer Emilio Larrosa on Twitter.

Since the beginning of the shooting, the producer has tried to make script interesting by inviting celebrities for special performances in "Libre Para Amarte," so the "Canal de las Estrellas" soap opera has a special guest last week.

"Libre Para Amarte" tells the story of Aurora Valencia (Gloria Trevi), a young woman that makes a living as a taxi driver and as an instructor in a gym. She is in a relationship with boyfriend Ramón Sotomayor (Eduardo Santamarina), but her love is put on test when Enrique (Gabriel Soto), a newly graduate in economic studies, returns to Mexico and meets Aurora.

It's no secret that ratings of the Televisa's comedy haven't been good, with really low ratings in the second week after having a strong first week. Surely having Thalía would make a huge impact on the ratings, since she hasn't acted for 14 years.

In 1992, Thalía got the title of la Reina de las Telenovelas (the Queen of the Telenovelas) after starring in her famous "Maria" telenovelas - Maria Mar, Maria Mercedes, and María la del Barrio.

Her albums "Extasis" (1995), which included hits "Piel Morena" and "María la del Barrio," and Arrasando (2000), which spawned five number one hits, were huge successes. The song "Entre el Mar y una Estrella" made it the top spot in the Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart for the very first time.

Her 2003 album "Thalía" was her first time singing in English, but according to MTV, this crossover "fell flat time after time" since that production and "El Sexto Sentido"(2005) had a disappointing reception. The album featured songs "I want You/Me Pones Sexy", "Baby, I'm in love/Alguien Real" and "Don't Look Back".

Her seventh studio album "Habítame Siempre" was released November 2012.

"People who don't watch, don't understand telenovelas. But for the millions that do, it's a phenomenon. The people who face everyday problems about love, about their jobs or school, focus on the story and forget their problems. It's like a tonic," the 41-year-old once told Daily News New York, according to Planet Thalía.
