Go big or go home. That's the formula for success when it comes to television. Perhaps not quite, but the sentiment rings true in an age where special effects, absurdity and gripping drama propel shows to substantial success. ABC's "Nashville" is gearing up for its second season and is seeking to do just that.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, sisters Lennon and Maisy Stella as well as Chris Carmack from "The O.C." have been promoted to series regulars for the forthcoming season.
The Stella Sisters have been with the show since the beginning. They were originally cast to play the daughters of Rayna (Connie Britton) and Teddy (Eric Close), but due to visa issues they were unavailable for the original pilot episode. ABC then reshot the episode upon their arrival.
Apart from the show, the young Canadian sisters are YouTube sensations. In fact, that's what caught the producers attention in the first place. Their songs have generated millions of views. One in particular, a cover of Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up," has nearly 7.5 million. Check it out below.
Carmack first appeared on the final six episodes of season 1 as Will, a friend and roommate of Scarlett (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar (Sam Palladio). At first, Will worried fans that he would pose a serious threat to their relationship, but they later learned that he was gay and covers his sexuality with a strong womanizing mask. He believed that if his secret were revealed, it would hurt his chances at becoming a country music star.
Fans are excited to learn that more of their beloved "Nashville" characters will be returning to the show, especially the adorable Stella Sisters, whose careers will undoubtedly blossom into something magnificence.
"Nashville" returns to ABC in October.
