Vanessa Hudgens will show even more of her boundary-pushing, sexy persona, which her followers first got to see in the movie "Spring Breakers," with the release of the new film "The Frozen Ground," which she co-stars with veteran actor Nicolas Cage.
The British newspaper The Sun released a revealing teaser for the new film. In the exclusive sneak peak, the former Disney star, proves she's anything but innocent anymore with a tantalizing striptease. Hudgens is seen dancing around a pole wearing only a bikini in a strip-club full of men.
The 24-year-old actress' new image comes in sharp contrast to her earlier public image when she starred in the teen hit series "High School Musical" alongside former boyfriend Zac Efron.
Hudgens' career has taken a very different turn since she first rose to public attention playing Gabrielle Montez in "High School Musical." The actress has also released two albums, which have been a commercial success. The actress is said to have made a conscious decision to star in the film "Spring Breakers" in order to change public perception about her.
In that film, Hudgens gave life to a sexy teen who finds herself caught in a downward spiral of sex, drugs and money. The film, which came out to mixed reviews, paired Hudgens with other former teen superstars Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine, who is married to the film's controversial director Harmony Korine.
The actress is also scheduled to appear in the upcoming Robert Rodriguez' action film Machete Kills.
In "The Frozen Ground," Hudgens plays Cindy Paulson, a prostitute who escapes from a serial murderer (John Cusack) sought after by detective Glenn Flöthe (Nicolas Cage).
The film, which is directed by Scott Walker, is scheduled for an August release in the United States.
