The number of new Pokémon for the sixth-generation might have reached 20 due to a discovery at an expo.

As seen on Bulbapedia, a sword-like Pokémon was spotted at Japan Expo.

The new Pokémon's official English name is unknown, but its known in French as Monorpale and Hitotsuki in Japanese. Monorpale is a dual Steel-and-Ghost-type Pokémon.

The new Pokémon was seen in a battle against Rock-and-Ground-type Pokémon Golem of the first generation.

The report added Monorpale has the ability to "unsheath itself" during battle.

At the moment, Monorpale would be the first Steel-type Pokémon to also be a Ghost-type.

The sword-like Pokémon would likely receive criticism from select fans as some have previously complained about object-based Pokémon, such as Litwick resembling a candle, Chandelure's appearance as a chandelier, and Vanillite's ice cream body, and that's only from the fifth-generation. The first-generation featured Voltorb and Electrode, which is simply a Pokéball with a face, and third generation's Wind-Chime Pokémon, Chimecho.
