It's the 4th of July. It's a day to kick back, relax, crack open a 'soda',' eat some charcoaled grilled delicacies and enjoy the company of the people you love. Sure, it's a day to commemorate our country's independence from Great Britain and the constitutional rights that make it so great, but it's more than that. It's a feeling. A day of unity. It brings us together as a single entity and gives us an excuse to bathe in our freedoms. So while you're enjoying the day in by whatever means fitting to you, it is a free country after all, you have to right to do just that, lively it up with a couple tunes that commemorate just that. Here's a brief selection of rockin' 'America' songs to help you get down on this beautiful 4th of July.

1. Naturally, we'll kick things off with Bruce Springsteen's "Born In the U.S.A." It may seem cliché, but no song better encapsulates what it means to be from our proud country.

2. Now to take things back a notch, we revert to classic singer/song writers Simon & Garfunkel with their song "America." Let the smooth melodies and harmonies flow in the warm summer breeze and put the blazing sun to rest, leaving the twilight sky scarred and burned, ready for the onslaught of the impending fireworks.

3. Next up is a more recent, party-down type of song by an artist that's symbolizes the current state of American Youth. So take it away Miley Cyrus and let us all boogy down to your smash hit "Party In the U.S.A." Have you noticed a reoccurring trend in song titles yet?

4. And what about the beautiful dames that are all decked out in Daisy Dukes and American flag crop tops? They deserve their own 'America' song too, and here it is, Tom Petty's "American Girl." You go girls. You deserve it.

5. There are hundreds of songs appropriate for this glorious day, and although this one doesn't necessarily embody our country's essence, it still includes the word "America" and has long been a classic close to all Americans' hearts: "American Pie," by Don McLean. So pump up the volume, and please, celebrate responsibly.
