Darkspore, the RPG created by Simcity studio Maxis, will not have a game breaking bugs fixed by the developer, and the game has been declared no longer in development and pulled from Steam, according to Player Attack.

The game first launched in 2011, and since then the game has encountered several bugs that render the game useless to players. In particular, a bug known for bring up error code 73003 has been reported, leaving to the game's increased instability. Another major bug that prevented players to save new changes and create new characters were reported though seems to have been fixed since. Inquisitor_Laine, a forum moderator for the game, had this to say on the game's faults:

"Darkspore is no longer developed...for almost all intents & purposes an abandoned title. If you cannot play the game & have flicked through technical issues for any fixes, then contact EA Customer Support; especially if it regards CD-Keys or refunds. Error 73003 has gone unfixed & remains an issue. Error Code 3 has arisen for the majority/all & remains an issue. I will however keep the forums here as clean & tidy as possible in my spare time. Why? Well why not. If it helps anyone with minor problems, or find their way somewhere, then that's great. I wish you all luck, no matter what path you choose with Darkspore."

Darkspore is another black eye for Maxis following the botched launch of Simcity and the disastrous media firestorm that followed. Darkspore, which also had an always online requirement similar to Simcity, will no longer be available for new players to join. Any fans of the game will have to suffer through any bugs without the support of Maxis, which would seem to indicate that the game was no doing well for it to be abandoned completely by its developer.
