Fans of the Total War series have better prepare their hard drives in their PC's for the upcoming Total War: Rome 2. The developer of the game, Creative Assembly, has released the specs of the game, and Kotaku is reporting that the game will eat up a huge chunk of memory and tax PC's pretty harshly.

Here are the minimum and recommended specs for the game:

Minimum:

OS: XP/ Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8

Processor: 2 GHz Intel Dual Core processor / 2.6 GHz Intel Single Core processor

Memory: 2GB RAM

Graphics: 512 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible card (shader model 3, vertex texture fetch support).

DirectX®:9.0c

Hard Drive: 35 GB HD space

Screen Resolution: 1024x768

Recommended:

OS: Windows 7 / Windows 8

Processor: 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 processor (or greater)

Memory: 4GB RAM

Graphics: 1024 MB DirectX 11 compatible graphics card.

DirectX®:11

Hard Drive: 35 GB HD space

Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

While 35 GB of memory is a pretty high number for a game on any platform (It's more than the premium model of the Wii U carries), as most modern PC's carry hundreds of Gigs of memory storage, especially if they are capable of running a game as massive of Total War: Rome 2. While it is nothing to sneeze at, PC gamers could merely delete one or two games of their hard drive to make room for the game.

Total War: Rome 2 will be released on September 3, and those who preorder the game will receive a new faction as a day-one DLC bonus. The popular real-time strategy series seeks to up the ante when it comes to recreating epic battles with the latest technology available, and should deliver an utterly amazing experience to gamers, especially those who can go above and beyond the specs listed here.
