The foundation for the "Justice League of America" movie has faltered again and again. Warner Bros. continues to run into walls as it tries to put the jumbled pieces together. Its primary issue is finding a parallel universe that can tie all the DC superheroes together seamlessly. The Dark Knight saga and Green Lantern films for example have established completely contradicting worlds, so how is Warner Bros. supposed to bring them together?

"Man of Steel" served as a placeholder for the project. If the Superman movie does well, then they could move forward with the Justice League film, Warner Bros. perhaps thought to itself. The universe established in "Man of Steel" could be exactly what they needed, and now in the wake of its extraordinary success, there's nothing stopping them.

"Man of Steel" has grossed more than $400 million worldwide and has succeeded to establish a whole expanded DC universe. Although Warner Bros. have remained quiet on the possible Justice League movie while fast tracking a "Man of Steel" sequel, none other than Henry Cavill, Superman himself, opened up about the potential film during an interview with ABC News.

"'Justice League' could be great if done correctly," Cavill said. "It's a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world universe, real-world setting we're telling our story in, it's going to be tough to achieve that. It has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won't be right away. I hope it's not anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another."

There's still plenty of work to do, however, the wheels are turning. Superman appears to be optimistic, despite his concerns of finding a common reality between the godlike heroes. Then again, if "Justice League of America" sticks close to the DC heroes' original powers, it's going to make for one epically wild movie.
