There's a new bit of SimCity DLC out today, and it's not a product tie in! Unfortunately, this also means that it's not free.

The Airship DLC is adding event blimps, a new tourist destination, and even hot air balloon parks. Event blimps float about the city, boosting attendance for concerts and other stadium events. The hot air balloon parks are a new entertainment option for wealthy citizens.

You can also add an airship hangar to your city to allow airship tourism money to come in from other cities in the region. This has the added benefit of bringing in tourism dollars without causing extra traffic.

To clear up even more traffic, you can also now implement commuter airships, which allow citizens to go to and from work without using a car.

The Airship DLC is available now on Origin for $8.99. If you're not sure whether it's worth the price, you can see a preview video for the new DLC below.

The DLC package has so far proven to be a bit controversial with SimCity players. Many feel that it is a way for the developers to work around the flawed traffic system instead of fixing it. Even worse, they are effectively charging you for a patch. Still, it's definitely one of the more expansive pieces of DLC so far, and at $8.99, it's also on the cheaper end.

In other SimCity related news, the Mac version of the game has been delayed to August from its original June 11 release date. Players who already own a copy on the PC will receive the Mac version for free when it launches.
