Motorola's upcoming Moto X phone has a lot of people excited, and for good reason. The smartphone promises to come equipped with some nifty features, and good news is that it may not be too far off. The latest release date rumor has the phone's launch pegged at the beginning of August.

Thanks to the keen eyes over at AndroidandMe, we've got a look at an ad campaign pitch by agency Behance. The ad campaign features a number of mock ups centered around the slogan "Goodbye Moto" and the date August 1.

"We're not good at goodbyes. No one is. They're hard. And sad. But the time has come. After nearly a century of innovation, we must say farewell. Farewell to the first handheld cell phone. To the Razr. To the game snake. Farewell to the Motorola that has shaped today," reads a full-page newspaper ad from the campaign.

"It's time to start building tomorrow. Change is afoot. New faces. New ideas. New technologies. The Motorola that returns will not be the company you once knew. But we have some work to do. So until we're ready, we're going away. No new ads or tweets. No site updates. Just silence until we begin the next chapter.

Until we meet again, goodbye Moto."

What this mysterious message means is up in the air, but the general consensus seems to center around the fact that Motorola must have asked for some kind of pitch relating to big announcement on August 1. Could it be the Moto X phone? The handset was tipped for an October release by the very same Motorola executive who first confirmed the existence of the phone, but the actual reveal announcement could happen in August. Either way, we'll have to wait for further details from Motorola on this before making any calls.

The Moto X is rumored to come with a 720p display, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB memory, a 10-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and the latest version of Android upon its release.
