Nigeria will look to salvage its Confederations Cup hopes when it faces Spain on Sunday in the final group stage match.

Nigeria will face a difficult task as only a victory over Spain can assure the African side a chance to play in the semifinals. The team can qualify with a loss, but it must pray for a Tahiti victory over Uruguay; the likelihood of the amateur side beating the South Americans is highly unlikely.

The team may also have to pull off the victory without winger Nnamdi Oduamadi; Oduamadi was injured during the game against Uruguay.

"I was having a good game, but then got a kick on the ankle and felt serious pain, and that's why I asked the coach to replace me," Oduamadi said about his injury. "It's bad getting this injury and very disappointing, but I hope to be back against Spain."

Spain only needs a draw to clinch the top spot in the group. However, the defending World Cup Champions are likely thinking about improving their game in order to be in top form for the semifinals.

"We need to keep improving with every game. The match against Nigeria will be a tough test but we are ready to get the three points. This competition is good in a way that it allows us to test our strength against all continental champions. We would not take it easy on our opponents. We will push them to the limit and I expect a very interesting match", said Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque.

It will be interesting to see if Del Bosque continues to rest his top players against the African side and rely on a number of the stars that took down Tahiti 10-0.

Prediction: Spain pulls off a 3-0 victory.
