Fans of ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" have only had a month to take in the harrowing season nine finale last month, but that doesn't mean they're not digging for details of the upcoming season. Finally some details about fans' favorite bubbly couple, Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), are emerging.
The twosome hit a rough patch of epic proportions when Arizona admitted to not only cheating on Callie but also not forgiving her for amputating her leg. Arizona committed the illicit tryst with visiting doctor Lauren (guest star Hillarie Burton), who was more than willing to hook up with the married pediatrics surgeon.
Now fans are left wondering if they will see more of Lauren and her relationship with Arizona. According to TVLine, there are "no signs (yet) that lustful Dr. Lauren will be back."
While Lauren's return may still be up in the air, Callie and Arizona's relationship will most likely remain on the rocks. As previously reported, showrunner Shonda Rhimes has hinted at a "season of breakups."
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rhimes said, "What the bigger question is, is what's Callie going to do next? Callie isn't a victim; she's never really been a victim, and she's been cheated on before with George. So how she's going to take this and what she's going to do next is going to be the bigger issue."
While Arizona's infidelity with Lauren sure will play a big part in their eventual breakup or reconciliation, the fact remains that Arizona is very resentful towards Callie for amputating her leg following the tragic plane crash finale in season eight. Either way, fans will just have to wait and see what happens to Calzona.
"Grey's Anatomy" returns on Thursdays this fall on ABC.
