In a Facebook post, Milan, Shakira's son with Barcelona star Gerard Piqué, let the world know his famous mommy is taking a break from NBC's The Voice to spend more time with her family, but assured she would be returning for the singing competition's sixth season.

"Mommy thanks for bringing me to The Voice, so fun!! Though your fellow coaches [referring her fellow on-set rivals singers Usher, Blake Shelton and Maroon 5's Adam Levine] are a doubtful influence on me, I'm ready for season 6", the message said. It was accompanied by side-by-side images of the adorable 5-months-old Milan and his mother on set of The Voice.

The 36-year-old Colombian superstar decided to take a break from her role as a mentor to focus on her baby boy and the recording of her new album.

"I'm not going to be able to do next season because I have to get back to my motherhood and also get back to the studio, the recording studio, to finish my album, the one that I started working on before I had to deliver a baby and before I took this gig with The Voice", she told US Magazine of her decision to leave the show after just one season.

The show's host Carson Daly confirmed to US Magazine that former coach Christina Aguilera would be returning to her previous red seat. Aguilera performed her song "Feel This Moment" during the Top 12 live elimination.

Season 4 of The Voice came to an end on Tuesday night, when contestant Danielle Bradbery landed first place in the competition, crowning her mentor, country singer Blake Shelton, as the winner coach for the third consecutive season.

Although none of her team members made it to the final round, the beautiful Barranquilla-born songstress was one of the most popular faces on the show. The Voice has reportedly boosted Shakira's popularity in the U.S.

According to Hollywood Reporter music editor and TV communications expert Shirley Halperin, Shakira was one the most beloved judges of The Voice. "The program has been a very important platform for her", the journalist was quoted as saying by Colombian newspaper El Espectador.

Halperin further stated that although Shakira has been known in the United States through many years, her media presence was limited to music and that she only appeared in the news when publishing a new album.
