Amazon's "Without a Service Plan" price for the Lumia 928 is $499.99.

The price drop on Amazon is effective for both black and white models of the Windows Phone 8 device.

Amazon is also offering free two-day shipping if orders are received by 3 p.m. EST during business days, although it may depend on carrier approval and not valid for P.O. boxes.

The Amazon deal comes after Latinos Post reported on Verizon Wireless also dropping its prices on the same Nokia smartphone by 50 percent. Verizon Wireless' official website offered the Lumia 928 for $99.99 but has slashed costs to $49.99.

The Lumia 928 was announced for U.S. customers on May 12.

The Lumia 928's features include a 4.5-inch display with 1,280x768 pixels. The Lumia 928 also comes with 32GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM and no card microSD card slot. When it comes to the photography, the rear-facing camera has 8 megapixels with 3,264x2,448 pixels and Carl Zeiss optics. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, has 1.3 megapixels. The smartphone can also record at 1080p at 30 frames per second.
