Casting has begun for "Star Wars Episode 7."

According to Bleedingcoolnews.com, a casting breakdown for J.J. Abrams' new installment was leaked. The breakdown included seven key roles that must be cast,  including a young man in his early-to-mid 20s, two young females who both have to be physically fit and an older man in his 70s who could be in the vein of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Sources also told Variety that April Webster and Alyssa Weisberg, who have cast all of Abrams' previous TV and film projects, will cast in the U.S. Meanwhile Nina Gold, who was the casting director for "The King's Speech" and "The Counselor," will cast in the U.K.

According to Variety, Abrams will most likely cast unknowns. The website stated, "looking at past Abrams' past films, it wouldn't be surprising if he pursues actors who are relatively unknown, as he did with 'Star Trek' and 'Super 8.'"

"Star Wars Episode 7" is currently in pre-production with Abrams directing the film, Kathleen Kennedy producing and Michael Arndt writing the script. Abrams' frequent editing team of Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey are already confirmed to edit the movie while Darren Gilford will serve as the production designer. Costume designer Michael Kaplan is also attached to the project.

Casting rumors have surfaced on the internet ever since Star Wars creator George Lucas stated that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford would return to the series. Fisher confirmed the news but later denied it. Ford failed to confirm the news while Hamill has been rather quiet his involvement in the picture.

Lucas recently confirmed he would not be part of production unless Abrams approached him.

The latest installment is slated to begin production in January 2014 and will be released in 2015.
