Spike TV's and Bellator MMA's latest project, "Fight Master: Bellator MMA", premieres Wednesday night, with some of the biggest names in the sport lending a hand in finding the next mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar.

The competitive reality show series - produced by eight-time Emmy Award-winner Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, creators of "The Amazing Race" - features Randy "The Natural" Couture, Frank Shamrock, trainer Greg Jackson (who has trained the likes of Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, Rashad Evans, and Carlos Condit), and Bellator featherweight Joe Warren leading four separate fight camp for 32 up-and-coming welterweights (170) looking to earn their way into the Bellator tournament in the Fall of 2013 and a $100,000 cash prize.

The fighters will get a chance to choose which camp they want to train under as well as their opponent. The Wednesday premiere will feature eight qualifying fights, with future episodes showcasing at least one fight. The finale will be telecast live on Spike TV with the winner earning a spot in the welterweight tournament.

"As the fighters' control their own destiny, they will need to utilize strategy in and out of the cage if they want to succeed and advance each week," said Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV, in a press release. "The stakes are high and the wrong decision, whether it is picking an opponent you don't match up well against or a coach and fight camp that you don't work well with, can mean all the difference."

Bellator differentiates itself from their MMA competitors by featuring championship fights that revolve around an eight-person single-elimination tournaments across multiple weight classes, with the winner of the tourney being declared the number one contender of their respective weight division, a title shot at the weight division champion and a $100,000 check.

Viacom, parent of MTV Networks, bought majority stake of Bellator in 2011, and began airing live events in January 2013 on Spike TV, giving the MMA company exposure into 98.7 million homes.

Bellator recently signed free agent Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who also get a four-part reality show series building up to his Bellator debut set for later this year.
