E3 Gametrailers 2013: The Best Trailers And Previews - Part 1

This year's E3 was the biggest since, well probably the launch of the last console generation eight years ago. As such, just about every publisher and developer showed up guns blazing with some of the coolest previews and gameplay demos we've seen come out of the expo. Check out the top ten E3 trailer below.

Mirror's Edge 2

It was rumored, it was debated, and it was finally confirmed at EA's Monday press conference. The trailer is definitely not gameplay footage, but it was rendered using the game's engine, and it looks fantastic. The vivid colors, the beautiful glossy sheen, and of course, that trademark first-person perspective, it all looks like a sequel worth waiting for. There's no release date yet, but you can bet it'll be one of the most talked about sequels of the next year.

Halo

Granted, this little video was less of a preview and more of a giant tease, but the crowd's reaction when Chief threw back his hood makes it totally worth it. It's no surprise that Halo is coming to Microsoft's next-gen console next year, but on the bright side, ponchos and 60 frames per second confirmed.

Watch_Dogs

No matter how many times Ubisoft shows this game off, it still manages to look bigger and more ambitious with each new preview. This latest gameplay demo showcases a big chunk of gameplay, including hacking, a shoot-out, a high-speed pursuit, and a stealth section. Watch_Dogs is currently heading for a November 19, 2013 release date on current-gen, and an unnaounced release window for next-gen platforms.

Sunset Overdrive

I have no idea what is happening in this trailer, but I know I want it bad enough to consider purchasing an Xbox One. Insomniac is a developer best known for the PlayStation games, so if they're making the jump to Microsoft's console for this one, they probably have a pretty good reason. Until we know more, enjoy the colors in the debut trailer.

 The Walking Dead: 400 Days

Telltale's Walking Dead series was one of last year's true gaming phenomena. The developers took the world of the Walking Dead and used it to give us one of the most poignant, heartfelt, nerve wracking, and personal stories we've ever seen in gaming. A brand new episode, focusing on five new characters, will be arriving this summer.

Quantum Break

We still know almost nothing about Remedy Entertainment's new IP, but that didn't stop this gameplay reveal from being any less stunning. Described as some sort of strange TV/game hybrid, Quantum Break is easily one of the most mysterious titles of the next-gen, and one many are eagerly awaiting new information on.

Project Spark

This game completely out of nowhere and floored the audience at Microsoft's press conference. Part map editor interface, part game engine, part community hub, Project Spark is wildly ambitious. It shares some similarities with Little Big Planet, but the coding interface really takes it the extra mile. It's also the best example of how Smart Glass and the Kinect can be used right, and for that alone it's worth a watch.
