France:

France's Windows Phone market share figures show surprising numbers for the Nokia Lumia 520, which made its debut at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, as it placed second with 15.2 percent. The second place finish for the Windows Phone 8 Lumia 520 is behind the HTC 8S, which accounted 19.8 percent.

According to AdDuplex, "Unlike any other country we covered, HTC 8S was a dominant phone in France for quite some time now. However, judging from the fact that Nokia Lumia 520 didn't exist two months ago (when we last covered France), it is clear that Nokia did their homework and push their entry level Lumia in a market that was so welcoming to the entry level HTC."

AdDuplex predicts the Lumia 520 has the potential to dethrone the HTC 8S by next month.

Finishing in third place is the Lumia 920 with 13.5 percent.

Germany:

Unlike France, the Lumia 920 topped the German Windows Phone chart with 17.9 percent. The Lumia 820 is next with 14.5 percent, barely ahead of the Lumia 800's 14.4 percent.

The HTC 8S, continuing the differences from France's figures, finished fourth with 8.1 percent while the Lumia 520 landed eighth with only three percent.

Italy:

Although still heavily using the older Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system, Nokia's Lumia smartphones dominate the Italian charts.

The Lumia 800 garnered 21.8 percent, ahead of the Lumia 610's 20.2 percent. The Lumia's appearance continues with the Lumia 710's 11.3 percent, Lumia 820 at fourth with 9.3 percent, and finally the Lumia 920 with 7.2 percent.

The Lumia 520 made an appearance for the first time since the last Italian AdDuplex rankings with 3.6 percent, a ninth place finish on the chart.
