It appears the HTC One mini is becoming a reality. After weeks of speculation and rumors swirling around the Internet, Bloomberg has reported that two sources have told them the diminutive One variant will be released this summer.

Before we even knew its name (tech bloggers were calling the smaller variant of the One the "M4") the HTC One mini was alive and well in the rumor mill, going back to February. Since then, photos were leaked to an Estonian site, and specs have been indicated for the future HTC release.

Now, according to Bloomberg, the HTC One mini will have a 4.3-inch screen (this checks out with previously reported rumors) and will be going on sale by August. Specs reported by Bloomberg were hazy, but included "a less-powerful Qualcomm processor and lower-resolution screen than the flagship," which is also consistent with previous anonymously-sourced reports.

Specs indicated by the Estonian site that leaked 13 images of the supposed HTC One mini, include the 4.3-inch screen and a 720p display, which has indeed less resolution than the One's 1080p 4.7-inch screen, but still holds its own as a new mid-range phone. Other more speculative ideas of what the HTC One mini's hardware will be include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a dual core processor of unknown processing speed.

It's also rumored that the HTC One mini will come with the "Ultrapixel" camera that the HTC One features, which is a 4-megapixel shooter with HTC proprietary technology that the Taiwanese company claims can keep up with, or out-shoot other 13-megapixel cameras on competing smartphones. Judging by the leaked pictures of the possible mini version, the HTC One mini will look just like a slightly smaller, non-metallic HTC One. But we'll apparently have to wait until sometime in July to truly know. Pricing has not been set or leaked by Bloomberg, but some rumors have it at the U.S. dollar equivalent of $520.
