Many Mac users may have already ventured on thinking of ways Apple's newest operating system, Mountain Lion, will make their 'digital' lives more efficient and comfortable.

As the release date for Apple's latest upgrade is slated for an unknown day in July, many more have been digging the internet to find out on what day exactly they'll be able to make an upgrade.

Apparently, the $20 download may be available to consumers as early as July 25 which is next Wednesday - a prediction given by the normally reliable Apple-rumor-site 9to5Mac.

According to the website, several sources have confirmed that Apple Stores in the U.S. and overseas are planning an overnight on July 24, hinting Apple is getting itself ready to make a new product launch.

According to some sources, Apple is likely to follow its 2011 pattern of releasing its newest operating system following the company's earnings report call. In 2011, Apple had its earnings report announcement on July 19th, and the OS X Lion launched on June 20. This year the announcement is scheduled for July 24, not making it unreasonable to expect a launch date for July 25.

According to the Apple website, the following Mac models will not support the OS X Mountain Lion:

Macs introduced in January 2006
MacBooks made prior to the introduction of the all-aluminum models in 2008
MacBook Pros made prior to June 2007
MacBook Air model introduced in January 2008
Mac Minis made before 2009
Mac Pros made before 2008
Xserve hardware made before 2009

On another Apple note, WSJ today wrote a report about a spec of Apple's next iPhone.

According to the media agency, Apple has already coordinated with manufacturing companies, namely Sharp Corp., Japan Display Inc., and the Korean company LG Display Co to initiate the massive production of a thinner screen panel.

A thinner screen panel could imply alterations in the smartphones weight, thickness and even price.

If Apple can produce a thinner phone, it would be able to better compete against Samsung's increasingly popular Galaxy S3 which is currently thinner than Apple's iPhone 4s.

According to various rumors, Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5 in August 7, September or October.
