Just weeks after the mid-May season nine finale of 'Grey's Anatomy' fans are clamoring for any small detail regarding the upcoming season. Despite forgoing her normal over the top finale antics, showrunner Shonda Rhimes did manage to include some explosive relationship drama for fans.

The season's last episode saw the breakup of Christina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd), the deterioration of Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona's (Jessica Capshaw) marriage and the pairing up of Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo (Camilla Luddington). While many fans may be hoping for the best with these couples, Rhimes has indicated that season 10 will not be the season for love.

According to the International Business Times, recent interviews of Rhimes indicate that the upcoming season will be the "season of breakups." During two recent interviews with The Hollywood Reporter, Rhimes discussed fans' favorite relationships.

Rhimes told THR that the future of Christina and Owen's relationship remains unclear, despite their latest breakup.   "I feel like that was a very definite moment for them," Rhimes said of the breakup. "Do they still love each other? Absolutely. Is that love every going to die? I don't know."

"I know a lot of fans just want us to end everything by giving Christina a baby [as if that's] going to make everyone happy, which infuriates me as a woman, as a human being and as someone who loves babies-it drives me nuts," Rhimes added. "I adamantly stand by Christina's ability and desire to not have a baby and to be happy about that."

As for the future of Callie and Arizona? Rhimes told the Hollywood Reporter in a different interview, "What the bigger question is, is what's Callie going to do next?" The showrunner added, "Callie isn't a victim; she's never really been a victim, and she's been cheated on before with George. So how she's going to take this and what she's going to do next is going to be the bigger issue."

The fact that Arizona doesn't forgive Callie for amputating her leg will remain a big issue, as will her infidelity with Lauren (guest star Hilarie Burton).

And don't count on a happy ending for Alex and Jo, the International Business Times says. After all, Alex is known to fall in love with women before being tragically dumped.

'Grey's Anatomy' returns on Thursdays this fall on ABC.
