Another week gone. Another week of silence. Another week of painstakingly praying for the "50 Shades of Grey" movie casting announcements. It's become obvious that E. L. James and Universal Studios enjoy toying with their fans' emotions. If they providing fans with a casting timetable, a hint of who's being pursued for the roles, or even confirmation that they're making steps in the right direction, they could rest easy. But no. That would be too pleasant and thoughtful. Instead, fans are left to their own feverous speculations. They continue to root for their favorite hopefuls, making it seems as though the "50 Shades" masterminds have narrowed down their selection, which in reality is probably untrue. Big names like Matt Bomer from "White Collar" and "Vampire Diaries'" Ian Somerhalder are clear frontrunners in fans' eyes, however one of Somerhalder's previous co-stars has now entered "50 Shades" contention and is getting plenty of attention.

It's 50 Shades of Mystic Falls. Former "Vampire Diaries" cast member Matt Davis has arrived at the Christian Grey casting arena. The "Legally Blonde" actor has got the look, the age, 35, and the charisma, but does he have what it takes to beat out his fellow vampire? Alicia Lutes from Hoolywood.com seems to think so.

"The actor from 'Legally Blonde' and 'Vampire Diaries' would be a surprisingly good choice for the role, given his previous work and, well, his looks. Cockiness is key here, my dudes. Sure, he may not look like he's going to physically harm you in some weird-sexual way when he has his way with you, but this movie is probably not going to be X-Rated, or even NC-17, so, you know, concessions must be made."

So what do you say "50 Shades of Grey" advocates? Would Davis make a good Mr. Grey, or more importantly, does he even stand a chance against the well established fan-favorite Somerhalder?
