A new feature for iOS 7 could be the AirDrop wireless file-sharing app, as seen on Mac computers.

According to 9to5Mac, people familiar with the development of Apple's next mobile platform stated AirDrop is currently integrated with the standard iOS share menu. The addition of AirDrop could connect two iOS devices and even a Mac device.

AirDrop was first introduced in the OS X Lion operating system for the Mac in 2011. AirDrop serves as a Finder function for Mac users to share files with fellow Mac owners without wireless connection.

The report added that AirDrop was previously scrapped ahead of iOS 6, therefore, it is likely Apple could drop the feature ahead of its release.

The rumor comes a week before Apple starts its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from San Francisco, Calif. From June 10 to 14, over 100 sessions will cover topics Apple hopes would help their products in the long run.

The iOS 7 is expected to debut during the keynote speech at WWDC, which has been confirmed to take place on the first day of the conference.

During AllThingsD's D11 conference, CEO Tim Cook credited Apple's Senior Vice President of Industrial Design Jonathon Ive as "key" of the next mobile platform.
