Android updates are always welcome news, but as with all software patches, they can come with their share of problems. It looks like Verizon Galaxy S3 owners are experiencing issues with 4G LTE connectivity following the recent firmware upgrade.
Verizon pushed out an update earlier this week with a host of new features. According to various users around the Internet and an AndroidCommunity report, the update seems to kill 4G LTE speeds. It seems many users are complaining of only have one or two LTE bars on their Verizon Galaxy S3, with the connection dropping in and out.
The update introduced some nifty new interface options for Verizon Galaxy S3 users such as Multi-Window, which allows two apps to run side by side on the screen at the same time. Not all apps support Multi-Window, but it's certainly handy to browse the web while having YouTube play a song up top. The update also comes with the "Best Shot" camera mode, a new gallery mode, and much more. A full list of improvements can be found on Verizon's support PDF.
Whether or not the update is worth the risk of losing 4G LTE connectivity will ultimately be up to you. The new features are great, but if browsing and data speeds are severly hampered, then the overall experience might not be worth it.
