Tiger Woods: Garcia’s Racial Slur is Inappropriate, Hurtful

Tiger Woods is apparently tired of all the hoopla concerning his bitter rivalry with fellow PGA Tour golfer Sergio Garcia.

On Wednesday, the world's top golfer broke his silence for the first time since the Spaniard's racial slur last week in England. It didn't take more than one sentence to express his reaction to Garcia's racially insensitive remark.  

"That's already done with," Woods told reporters during Wednesday's press conference ahead of the Memorial Tournament, according to ESPN.

Woods and Garcia have been trading barbs over the past few weeks following a controversial play in the Players Championship.

The two were grouped together in the third round of the tournament when Garcia launched his tirade towards Woods after he was allegedly distracted by the noise from the crowd who were following the American golfer.

Garcia insisted the distraction could have been avoided if Woods had not drawn his golf club from his bag at the time he was making his shot. The golfer then traded feisty words and it continued to get out of control last week in England, when Garcia fired some racy comments about Woods.

"We will have him round every night. We will serve fried chicken," Garcia said when asked if he's willing to spend dinner with Woods during the upcoming U.S Open.

Woods shared his feeling on his Twitter account last week, calling the remark clearly inappropriate and hurtful.

During the press conference, Woods shared his thought on dealing with racially insensitive comments and how he has faced it throughout his entire career.

"Well, I live it," Woods told ESPN.

"It's happened my entire life, and it's happened my entire career. So that doesn't surprise me. It exists all around the world, not just in the sport of golf. It exists everywhere. I know that a lot of people are trying to make a difference and trying to make it more fair for all of us."

Woods, who has won three of his last four tournaments, is looking for his fifth trophy of the year at the Memorial Tournament, where he's the defending champion.
