The action on the court continues to get hotter as the 2013 French Open continues on Tuesday.

Rain caused a two-hour delay in Paris, France on Tuesday that caused several matches to be stopped. However, once play resumed, several matches kicked off. In women's action, Samantha Stosur of Australia defeated Kimiko Date-Krumm of Japan 6-0, 6-2. Qualifier Mariana Duque-Marino bested Kristyna Pliskova 6-2, 6-0. Meanwhile on the men's tourney, No. 26 Grigor Dimitrov advanced when Alejandro Falla retired with indigestion; Demitrov was leading 6-4, 1-0.

The schedule continues on Tuesday in men's action when No.1-seeded Novak Djokovic takes on David Goffin. Djokovic is eying the finals after falling short of the title last year to rival Rafael Nadal, who advanced on Monday. The further Djokovic goes, the more likely he is to meet Nadal in the semifinals, thanks to their drawings. No.8 Janko Tipsarevic also takes on Nicolas Mahut while No.9-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka meets Thiemo de Bakker.

Meanwhile, in women's action, No.3-ranked Victoria Azarenka will square off against Elena Vesnina as the marquee match-up of the day. Azarenka, who won the Australian Open title earlier this year against Li Na and took the Quatar Total Open title against world No.1 Serena Williams, has been looking strong this year and could be in position to win at the tournament that has vexed her in recent years. No.16 Dominika Cibulkova takes on Lesia Tsurenko, while No.12 seeded Maria Kirilenko takes on Nina Bratchikova and seventh-seeded Petra Kvitova tries her luck against Aravene Rezai.
