Manchester United manager David Moyes will reportedly do anything possible to keep striker Wayne Rooney with the club.

According to UK Publication The Daily Mail, the manager will hold meetings with the forward to resolve lingering conflicts.

"The club now accepts that Rooney has never submitted a formal transfer request and, although Moyes will want to meet the player personally before final decisions are made, with Rooney committed to the club and Moyes an open admirer of the player, a resolution seems imminent," the Daily Mail reports.

According to former Manchester manager Sir Alex Ferguson, Rooney asked to be left out of a game because he wanted a transfer out of the Old Trafford.

"I don't think Wayne Rooney was keen to play, simply because he's asked for a transfer," Ferguson revealed.

"He wants to think it through in his mind, which is a good idea. We are not going to let him go but he is a little bit frustrated at being taken off once or twice in the last few weeks."

The two had a argument after Rooney was left out of major games, including the second leg of the Champions league Round of 16 against Real Madrid. Ferguson recently stated that he did not care for Rooney's fate.

"I've no idea. It is not my department. I am no longer interested in that. [Incoming manager David Moyes] is going to deal with that," he said .

"I'm sure he will address it when he gets here. Quite rightly he wants to deal with that and I'm happy with that."

Paris Saint-Germain was one team interested in buying the Englishman. Recent reports indicated that the club was willing to pay Rooney approximately $377,000 per week if he agreed to move to Paris. ESPN reported that Rooney was interested in potentially heading to PSG.
