Radamel Falcao looks like he will head to AS Monaco FC next season.

ESPN reports that the striker will likely sign a 60 million euro contract to play for the French Ligue 1 club. The team has already made moves for Joao Moutinho and fellow Colombian native James Rodrigues.

Monaco assistant coach Jean Petit has reportedly told Radio RCN that, "Yes, we are expecting Falcao and four or five other players of his quality...We have spoken and we continue to speak with Falcao and his representatives, negotiations are ongoing. We hope to seal a deal as soon as possible."

Petit added, "Monaco need a player like Falcao because he can help us a lot and because he can attract other top players, and that's the best way of confirming out project is big and interesting. Signing Falcao is a big coup on sporting and media levels for French football."

Falcao was the third leading scorer in the Spanish league with 32 goals in 36 league games. He helped Atletico Madrid captured third place in the Spanish league and a berth in the 2013-14 Champions league.

Atletico's general manager Miguel Angel Gil Marin recently confirmed that Falcao would be leaving Madrid. "Before the start of the season we talked with Falcao and we promised him 'if you help us to reach the Champions League next season, Atletico will help you,'" he revealed. "Every decision he will take, Atletico will be with him."

AS Monaco recently finished atop the Ligue 2 standings. As a result, the team will head to the top French division next season. Monaco won the Ligue 1 championship seven times in its history, but has failed to capture the top French prize since 2000.
