With both Microsoft and Sony's next-gen consoles official, it's time to start looking towards what's really important: the games. Here are four titles to look out for as we move closer to E3.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

The fourth installment of the Assassin's Creed franchise will take players to the Caribbean during the "Golden Age of Piracy." The game follows Edward Kenway, a British pirate and assassin, and also the grandfather of Assassin Creed III's Connor. The game will put a heavy focus on naval combat, with about 40% of the game taking place at sea.

Assassin's Creed IV will be released on October 29, 2013.

Battlefield 4

EA's flagship shooter franchise returns with Battlefield 4. The game will feature an all new single-player campaign set in 2020, as well as the return of the main attraction: the competitive multiplayer mode. In addition, Commander Mode is back, allowing one player on each team to control the flow of battle from an RTS-like tactical map.

Battlefield 4 will be released on October 29, 2013.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty: Ghosts was unveiled as part of Microsoft's Xbox One reveal event, but it'll be released on just about every platform under the sun. The game will feature an entirely new world and cast of characters, alongside an upgraded IW engine. Not too much is known about it yet, except for the fact that it takes place in a post-catastrophe America, and it has a dog.

Ghosts will be released on November 5, 2013.

Destiny

Bungie is officially moving on after Halo with Destiny, an upcoming action, RPG, FPS, MMO hybrid set in a "mythic science fiction" setting. The game is set hundreds of years in the future after a mysterious event known as the "Collapse" destroyed humanity's space colonies, and forced the remaining human population to live in one surviving city on Earth. Not too much is known about the gameplay right now, but you can expect to see a lot more about it at E3.

Destiny will be released sometime in 2014.
