This year, Nintendo has decided to skip its annual press conference at E3. Instead, the company is opting for a series of Nintendo Direct streaming video presentations to market directly to the fans.

Today it was announced that another Nintendo Direct would take place during E3 on June 11 at 7AM PST. This is just a few hours before the actual E3 show floor opens. Rumors have been circulating that even though Nintendo was not holding a press conference, they would still be making some high profile announcements during the expo. It seems likely that they will do so during the Nintendo Direct meeting.

In the past, Nintendo spokespeople and executives such as CEO Saturo Iwata and Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime have been on hand to announce titles and developments for the company's Wii U and 3DS systems.

Current reports point towards a pre-E3 reveal of a new Mario Kart, more information on Pokemon X and Y, and possibly even a U.S. release date for Pokemon Rumble U. It is also expected that the company will show off gameplay footage from the next Super Smash Bros, the upcoming 3D Mario game for the Wii U, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, and Bayonetta 2.

Previous rumors also stated that Nintendo is working with Capcom on a Resident Evil remake, that a new Star Fox game was in development, and that Disney was launching a line of Star Wars titles on the Wii U and 3DS. It is very possible we may see these previewed during the E3 Nintendo Direct.

The Nintendo Direct presentation should lead right into the company's booth on the show floor, where many of these games will be previewed for journalists.

In addition, Nintendo will also be bringing demos of their upcoming lineup of Wii U and 3DS titles to Best Buy stores in the U.S. and Canada. This is all part of their new initiative to sideline press events in favor of bringing the information directly to fans.
