Good deeds never go unnoticed. This was one thing Kidnap hero, Charles Ramsey, found out recently.
After his much raved and appreciated efforts in rescuing the three Cleveland women who were kidnapped and kept in isolation for 10 years, the man is being honored by his state.
According to reports, Ramsey--a hamburger enthusiast and a local hero---will be receiving a lifetime supply of burgers. Yes! You read that right. Over a dozen restaurants in the area have agreed to offer the kidnap hero free burgers for life after the man gave a 'beefed' up account of how he rescued Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight from captivity from the home of kidnap suspect, Ariel Castro, earlier this month.
"I heard screaming," Ramsey told the Atlanta Blackstar about how he found the kidnapped girls.
"I'm eating my McDonald's, I come outside, I see this girl going nuts trying to get out of her house. So I go on the porch and she says, 'Help me get out, I've been here a long time.'"
The Cleveland dishwasher's story quickly made headlines for his McDonald's shout out. Many people readily pushed for the fast food chain to reward the man for his efforts.
While McDonald's move to honor Ramsey's heroism, restaurants in the Cleveland area already took it upon themselves to reward the man with free patties whenever he wants.
According to the Huffington Post, the "Chuck Card" was the idea of Driftwood Restaurant Group's Scott Kuhn.
"We want to honor our local hero with local food," Kuhn told news website, Cleveland.com.
"He stopped his meal midway through to help those women. We're now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger."
The news outlet compiled a list of all the restaurants that are now offering Ramsey free burgers:
AMP 150 at the Marriott Cleveland Airport; Washington Place Bistro and Inn in Little Italy; Fahrenheit restaurant in Tremont; Market Garden Brewery, Bier Markt, Bar Cento and Nano Brew in Ohio City; Welshfield Inn in Troy Township; Hodges and Pura Vida in downtown Cleveland; 87 West at Crocker Park in Westlake; Orchard House restaurant in Brunswick; Flour restaurant in Moreland Hills, and the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg, Pennsylvania...
Hodge's Cleveland, where Ramsey works as a dishwasher, has also honored the hero's efforts with a burger of his own. Called the "Ramsey Burger"
"8 oz. CAB burger with secret sauce and more for $12 (served with tots)!," the restaurant tweeted about the honorary menu item.
So far, customers have already expressed their support for the new Charles Ramsey-inspired hamburger.
