It's almost June, which means summer is almost over, which means "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is almost upon us. Wishful logic aside, the "Hunger Games" sequel is approaching, and while the slow, summer months tick by, fans eagerly search for any "Catching Fire" insight they can get their paws on. Up to this point, they've seen an official teaser trailer, countless posters and cast portraits, and have heard from the cast and crew in a slew a various interviews. Now, "The Hunger Games" director and starlet have shared their thoughts on several new scenes from "Catching Fire."

At the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, the "Hunger Games" crew gathered during a party celebrating the sequel and gave fans an idea of what they can expect in the Stella Artois' Cannes Connoisseur Series.

When comparing the sequel to the original "Hunger Games" film, Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the leading role of Katniss Everdeen, said, "visually, it's a lot bigger this time. We get a little deeper into The Capitol as Katniss is trying to get her life back together."

"Lots of new stuff - new cast members, new action, a new arena and a fantastic story," said the "Catching Fire" director Francis Lawrence. He also told fans that they should expect some entirely new scenes that aren't featured in the books. Not to worry, however, the scenes will not alter or interfere with the original storyline established in the book series.

"There's very little that's been taken out - there's some additional scenes with some of the characters," he said. In particular, several scenes between Plutarch (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) and President Snow (Donald Sutherland) will be added to provide further substance to their sinister plans.

It's not much, but it's something to chew on while we sit idly during the long, droning summer months, anxiously awaiting the "Catching Fire" release.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" will hit theaters November 22 via Lionsgate Entertainment.
