A new AnTuTu benchmark purportedly from the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 hits nearly 28000, slightly higher than even the Exynos 5 Octa version of the Galaxy S4. It also reveals the device runs Android 4.3 with a 1.6GHz processor.

The Enynos 5 in the Galaxy S4 also runs at 1.6GHz (though we've seen a Korean version that runs at 1.9GHz, which most analysts expect could top 30000), so this benchmark, if true, lends credence to the rumors that the Galaxy Note 3 will feature the same processor.

Of course, it would be strange if Samsung has been able to get it hands on Android 4.3 before any of its competitors; it would require a special arrangement with Google, which won't be releasing the operating system update until later this summer.

And if this benchmark is from a prototype Galaxy Note 3 running a test version of Android 4.3, it means the final product, due out this September, will likely score much higher, which would be an impressive feat, considering even this preliminary result bests every other mobile device on the market.

Of course, the entire image, along with all of its model numbers, versions and scores could be fake, put together by someone familiar with the rumors about the Note 3, simply to troll those of us looking for real news. We'll all have to wait to find out.

The Galaxy Note 3 is still a long way off and won't be released until the IFA trade show in Berlin this September. But rumors indicate it will have a 5.9-inch or 6-inch Super AMOLED display with an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, an eight-core Mali 450 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, a bigger battery and run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
