Things are starting to get more interesting as the Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Tuesday.
On Monday, the Detroit Red Wings got a 2-1 edge in the semifinals with a 3-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks thanks to Gustav Nyquist and Drew Miller scoring two goals about 31 seconds apart in the second period. With the Red Wings having the edge in the series thus far, they will look to get in the driver's seat during Game 4 Thursday at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
But hockey fans won't have to wait that long for their dose of NHL action as the playoffs continue.
First up, in Madison Square Garden, the New York Rangers desperately seek a win against the Boston Bruins, who are leading the series 2-0 after back-to-back wins at the TD Garden in Boston. The Rangers and Derick Brassard are hoping that a change of scenery in front of a faithful MSG crowd will serve them well, but the Bruins have been on a roll and stand only two games away from the Eastern Conference Finals. Can the Rangers get back in the series or will the Bruins put the Rangers on the brink of elimination?
Then the action continues in San Jose, where the defending Stanley Cup Champion L.A. Kings take on the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks managed to get back into the series with a thrilling 2-1 overtime win on Saturday thanks to Logan Couture's power play goal 1:29 into overtime. But the Kings have been playoff tested and can easily seize control of the series with a win on Tuesday that would give them a commanding 23-1 edge in the series. Will the champs get one step closer to the Western Conference Finals or will the Sharks tie up the series at 2-all?
