Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Specs Rumors: 13-Megapixel Camera Pic Leaks

A new pic has leaked, allegedly taken with the 13-megapixel camera on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The image itself it quite dull: a washed-out closeup of pine needles, but the meta-data is more interesting.

The EXIF data lists the source device as a GT-N7200 running firmware version N7200XXUAMEB. The Galaxy Note 2's device number was GT-N7100, so it seems likely this new device is the Note 3.

Of course, EXIF data is easy to manipulate, so it's very possible some enterprising prankster simply changed it to something more plausible. It looks like the photo was taken with a 13-megapixel sensor at f/2.2. Those specs are consistent with the camera on the Galaxy S4, so the image could be a simple hoax taken with one of the most popular smartphones on the planet.

But recent rumors say the Galaxy Note 3 will have the same camera as the Galaxy S4, so the image specs are still in keeping with everything we've heard about the new device so far.

Samsung hasn't officially announced the Note 3 yet, but officials have referred to it by name on the record, so it's a sure thing. So far, the only confirmed information is its debut date in September; a flexible display mentioned in previous rumors is unlikely, since the tech probably won't be ready before this fall.

The Galaxy Note 3 is still a long way off and won't be released until the IFA trade show in Berlin this September. But rumors indicate it will have a 5.9-inch or 6-inch Super AMOLED display with an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, an eight-core Mali 450 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, a bigger battery and run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
