After weeks of growing hype over the astonishing lottery pots over the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots, finally winners have been announced. According to reports, the $190 million pot was won by a ticket sold in New Jersey and in Virginia.

Mega Millions last draw was held on Friday night, May 17, at 11:00 pm. The winning numbers were 11, 15, 35, 43 and 49, with the Mega Ball number being 41. The two tickets that have matched all numbers will be offered a cash payout of $70 million each, or their entire winning divided into annuities-these figures are of course, calculated before taxes.

Aside from the two jackpot winners, a number of other tickets a range of cash prizes. Seventeen tickets sold across several states have won $250 each-three winning tickets come from Michigan, New Jersey and New York; two come from Pennsylvania; and one winner each for Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin. More than a million other tickets have won somewhere from $2 to $10,000.

Over the past weeks, U.S. lottery prizes have grown to record breaking numbers. And while more and more people are joining the betting craze in the hopes of winning, the chances of matching the jackpot winning numbers are also getting slimmer and slimmer. Nevertheless, Friday's draw proved that winning the multimillion prize is not an impossibility.

Since the jackpot has already been won, the Mega Millions jackpot will be reset to $19 million for the next draw on Tuesday, May 21.

On the other side, however, Powerball's jackpot prize have already soared $600 million. If won, the lottery will offer the new multimillionaire over $376 in cash payouts. Powerball's next draw is scheduled on Saturday, May 18, at 10:59 pm ET.
