An update for "Pokémon X and Y" will be announced during the Japanese sideshow "Pokémon Smash" this Sunday, but what does this mean for U.S. fans?

"Pokémon Smash," which airs Sunday mornings features all things about the franchise in true Japanese fashion, has released a preview to their next episode. The preview appears to show a reveal of a new Pokémon as well as another adventure on Eevee, perhaps a clue to Sylveon's type.

What does this mean for U.S. fans?

Well, while "Pokémon Smash" airs Sunday mornings in Japan, it means it will be late Saturday evening on the eastern coast of the U.S. Therefore, U.S. fans can find out any new details late today.

Latinos Post will follow any new updates from "Pokémon Smash."

The preview comes as four new Pokémon were confirmed last weekend - Helioptile, Fletchling, Gogoat, and Pancham. They will join the five previously-announced sixth-generation Pokémon from earlier this year - Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Sylveon.

On an interesting note, exclusive video footage of Helioptile, Fletchling, Gogoat, and Pancham can be found on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube account. The exclusive video footage, which has not been uploaded to the U.S. Pokémon YouTube account, features approximately 20 seconds of gameplay footage of the four new Pokémon.

Meanwhile, the setting for "Pokémon X and Y" has been named Kalos, a star-shaped land featuring mountains and rivers with the city of Lumiose serving as the central focus of the region.

"Pokémon X and Y" will be released in October, simultaneously across Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America for the Nintendo 3DS.
