"The Vampire Diaries" ends this week, but there's plenty of vampire action right around the corner. The sixth season of "True Blood" is a little over a month away and season 6 details are already beginning to pour in. Fans have heard interviews from the cast, seen trailers that offer first looks into the upcoming season, and now a series of new photos shed some light on one of the season's new, allusive characters.

Macklyn (Rutger Haur) is described as a "mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie [Anna Paquin] and Jason [Ryan Kwanten]," according to Wet Paint. Although the photos aren't overly revealing, his zany costumes and alluring look speak loudly of his character. In one photo, he's seen in a gray, pinstriped suit, puffing on Sherlock Holmes pipe with a mad scientist hairdo. How this plays into "True Blood," we can't be sure, but it's intriguing nonetheless.

In a second photo, we see Macklyn in similar attire as he addresses Jason in a rather aggressive manner. Although Jason has his shotgun in his left hand, he seems subdued by his grasp, so whoever Macklyn is, he certainly has an authoritative command on Jason.

The third photo shows Jason doing what he does best: running. He looks troubled, and if you look closely you can see Macklyn by his side in the far left side of the frame. So what begins as a tense moment between the two could be nothing more than a call for drastic action. Wherever they're running, Jason looks intent on solving the issue at hand, at all costs.

The final photo features Macklyn, aka Niall Brigant, looking just as dapper in a black pinstriped jacket and a paisley vest. But no matter how classy he may look, his unruly gray hair and demonic stare prove that he will play a pivotal role in this season's vampire insanity. Check out all the photos here.

"True Blood" will return to HBO on June 16. Watch the official season 6 trailer below.
